Ever the optimist, I’m hoping that the hint of the great Chicago spring that we’ve had the last couple of days will stay with us. In any event, we’re gearing up for our 5th annual Jane’s WalkCHICAGO event on the first weekend in May. We’ve been working on making this year the most expansive, best-organized, most technically sophisticated Jane’s Walks that Chicago’s ever seen, so I hope you’ll check in here often.
To get started, I thought I’d post a terrific janes-walk-leader-info-sheet created for us by the University of Chicago Community Service Center, which summarizes some of the steps if you’d like to get involved as a Walk Leader.
If you’re simply interested in participating in a couple of walks this year – and I know at least one person who has come on multiple walks EACH YEAR – I’m afraid it will be a couple of weeks before I’m ready to make any formal announcements. But I can tell you that the amazing Julia Bachrach and Tim Samuelson will be leading one of them!
In the meantime, here’s something to inspire you, either as a participant or potential Walk Leader. Read, and then get outside and enjoy the weather!
